In Texas a Hidalgo County assistant district attorney resigned after he was arrested twice in a two week period for huffing. Police found the 32-year-old slumped over in his car with cans of inhalant around him. The man is facing charges of DWI, inhalant abuse, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Plano Authorities Suspect a Car fire was Started by Aerosol Abuse
Upon witnessing a car fire in a local parking lot, Plano firefighters
believed that the situation warranted an investigation. According to their reports, the car contained
several cans of computer cleaner that were likely used by the driver to become
intoxicated. These possess a chemical called difluoroethane which is highly flammable.
Therefore, they believe the car ignited when the driver tried to light a
cigarette after abusing inhalants.
At the time of the incident, the driver was seen running
from the burning car. However, local authorities soon found him. After taking
him into custody, they quickly brought him to Parkland Hospital in order to
treat his non-life threatening burns.

Police officers had to use their batons to smash through the back window to get to the driver. The man reached into the passenger's side, pulled a can of duster, and started huffing it. Cell phone video from the accident shows the man stumbling towards the ambulance.

Tests revealed today show that the 21-year-old actress had muscle relaxers, painkillers, and a chemical refrigerant difluoroethane in her system at the time of death. Texas Woman in Prison After Getting High in Front of Her Child

A woman in Odessa, Texas was spotted in a car by police in a parking lot. The police smelled chemicals coming from the car and confronted the woman, who responded in a slow manner. Upon investigation, police discovered she had been huffing toluene, a clear, liquid chemical, inside the car. The woman's two-year-old son was in the backseat. The woman was arrested and taken to prison.

A 17-year-old Texas man was arrested after a passenger in his pickup was injured in an accident that occurred after the man inhaled duster. A police officer responded to a crash with injuries. The officer saw a white pickup that had crashed into the back of another pickup. A passenger in the white truck told the officer he believed his arm was broken. He also told the officer that the driver, the 17-year-old man, was huffing duster from a can while driving and crashed into the parked pickup. The officer found the can at the crash site and learned that the driver had fled the scene on foot.
Another officer found the man blocks away. He had an injury to his chin and inside of his mouth. He was transported to the hospital for treatment before bring arrested. He was arrested for a third-degree felony charge of accident involving serious bodily injury and a class B misdemeanor charge of possession or use of an inhalant with volatile chemicals.

A 21-year old woman from Texas was charged last week with two counts of manslaughter in the deaths of a 38-year old woman and her 2 year old daughter. The woman is suspected of huffing compressed air while driving, blacking out, and causing a head-on collision on December 16, 2012.
The woman crossed the 15-foot median and collided with a minivan that held a woman and her two daughters (one daughter survived the accident). Both vehicles landed on their sides and had extensive damage.
"The woman told investigators at the scene that she had just come the Wal-Mart less than two miles away and blacked out while driving, according to the affidavit that accompanied her arrest warrant." Investigators found that she had purchased industrial strength compressed air from the Wal-Mart. "According to the affidavit, the compressed air contains a chemical called difluoroethane R-152a that can give a 'quick high' when inhaled. Side effects include nausea, headache, confusion and loss of consciousness, according to the affidavit."
Manslaughter is a second-degree felony. If convicted, the woman could face two to 20 years in prison.

Texas Man Huffs Behind the Wheel and Crawls Out the Window

A 28 year-old male was arrested late last week after he was found to have been huffing computer dusting spray behind the wheel.
The officer noticed a car turn sharply into a parking lot in front of him when “the man then began a left hand turn that turned into a complete circle, all while the driver (with the vehicle still rolling) began crawling out of the driver’s side window. The car came to an abrupt stop, but only after the man had one leg out and was halfway out of the window.”
When he had crawled out the window the driver admitted he had been huffing dusters. He was arrested and charged with “Class B misdemeanor of possession and use of an inhalant and with driving with an invalid license. “
