Florida Man Arrested for Inhaling Computer Duster

Pinellas County, FL - A 23-year-old man in Florida was arrested after police responded to reports of a man in a parked car huffing from a metal can. When police arrived they saw him inhaling from the nozzle of the can and arrested him. Police say the man bought the computer duster with intent to inhale it.

Huffing May Be Cause of Death in Fight in Missouri

A 31-year-old Springfield, Missouri man died after passing out during a fight.  The other man in the fight is now facing charges.Investigating police say that huffing may have been involved.  The man had been inhaling computer duster spray prior to the fight.

Illinois Man Dies of Inhalant Abuse

A 47-year-old Illinois man died from huffing computer duster spray.  The man was arrested for inhaling compressed gas in the parking lot of a Walmart and for driving under the influence. He was taken to the Police Department where he began complaining of shortness of breath. An ambulance was called and the man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Wisconsin Man Faces Charges After Huffing Accident Results in Pedestrian Killed

A Wisconsin man is facing charges of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with the death of a 17-year-old.   Police say the man was inhaling computer duster spray minutes before his truck crossed over the median and struck and killed a pedestrian. Smoking devices used for smoking marijuana and a can of computer duster spray were found in the truck.

Utah Driver Huffs Duster, Crashes

An 18-year-old driver in Utah was found trapped in his vehicle following a crash into a light pole and palm tree. The driver was huffing computer duster while driving and lost consciousness, causing the violent crash. Emergency personnel transported him to Dixie Regional Medical Center, where he remains.

North Carolina Man Arrested for Huffing at Grocery Store

A North Carolina man was arrested after tips came in of a suspicious person outside an Aldi grocery store. Employees requested that the man leave, but he did not, and was found outside the store by police. The police officers found two empty cans of computer duster in his backpack. The 34-year-old was arrested on charges of inhaling fumes for purpose of causing intoxication and second-degree trespassing.

Texas Car Explosion Linked to Computer Duster

Police were called to the scene of a car explosion in Plano, Texas, with reports detailing that a man with several cans of computer dusters was to blame. Witnesses reported the man scene fleeing from the car, and a bomb squad was called to investigate. As no explosives were discovered at the scene, authorities expect the explosion to have occurred when a man was huffing cans of compressed air duster, followed by lighting a cigarette. A man later appeared at a nearby hospital with burns, although he is reported to recover. No formal charges have been filed.

Michigan Man Found Huffing Duster In Parking Lot

A 19-year-old Michigan man was charged with prohibited use of a chemical agent and driving without a valid license following a tip to the police of a man spraying his face with an unknown substance in a Family Fare parking lot. Officers arrived and found him inhaling a can of duster. Paramedics were called to administer medical attention, and the man was subsequently arrested.

Oklahoma Man Arrested for Huffing and Theft of Vehicle

A 27-year-old Oklahoma man was arrested for physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and theft of a vehicle.

Police found the man passed out inside of a vehicle that he had pulled into a driveway.  Medics reported that when they arrived at the scene the man had a can of computer duster spray up to his mouth.   When medics asked the man to stop huffing and turn the truck off, the man allegedly continued to huff the duster until the can was empty and then attempted to put the truck in reverse and leave.  Medics intervened and turned the truck off, which made the man agitated and aggressive. The man held his car door closed until authorities arrived.

The man admitted that he had been huffing duster.  Six cans of dusters were recovered from the car.  After the man was arrested, police received information that the vehicle the man was in was reported stolen.

A 25-year-old South Dakota woman was arrested for DUI and reckless driving after police believe the woman was huffing and driving.

Witnesses say they saw the woman huffing computer dusting spray while driving, before she drove off the road.

Michigan Couple Arrested After Huffing in Parking Lot

A Michigan couple was arrested for 2nd degree child abuse after huffing dusters in a Walmart parking lot with their 3-year-old daughter in the car.  The couple, 29 and 27 years old, were huffing computer duster spray in their car when they passed out.  Shoppers reported to management that a couple was passed out in a running car in the parking lot.  A police officer was already inside the Walmart on a shoplifting inquiry when he was notified of the car.  When he approached the car he noticed the two adults were, "hunched over and passed out".

The police officer waited for help before attempting to enter the vehicle, as it is dangerous to wake someone who has been huffing.  The couple said they had been huffing because of the "rough day" they were experiencing.  Their 3-year-old daughter was in the back seat awake, happy and healthy.

Michigan Man in Hospital After Huffing; Frostbite and Breathing Issues

A 40-year-old Michigan man was rushed to the hospital with frostbite and breathing issues after he inhaled computer duster to get high.  According to his case report, the man had huffed three cans of duster over four hours, and was in a public restroom in a grocery store when he collapsed.  He was rushed to the hospital where he was treated for breathing issues and frostbite.
