5 Arizona Elementary Students Sick after Huffing

Five elementary school students were caught huffing aerosol cleaner after one fell sick. Police responded to the incident at Horizon School at noon. One student who had fainted was expected to be ok, but was taken to the hospital along with another student for precautionary reasons. The students are expected to recover, although there was no report on disciplinary action by the school.

A 30 year old woman was recently sentenced to a year
probation in an inhalant abuse incident that occurred last April.
On April 20, Pennsylvania State Police were called to a shopping
center for a report of a woman huffing chemicals in her car and passing out.
When they responded they found her passed out in the driver’s seat with a
bottle of spray cleaner in her left hand. They knocked on the window, waking her up and
when she got out of the car they noticed another can of aerosol cleaner and two
cans of cleaning dust spray in the car. They asked her why she was huffing the product
and she started crying and said she was “going through a rough time in her

A car accident earlier this month that sent three people to the hospital is now believed to be caused by a Pennsylvania man huffing behind the wheel.
On May 5th, a pick up truck driving at a high rate of speed smashed into a guide-rail in Roaring Spring, PA. The car flipped over injuring the three people riding inside. Officers have come across evidence that the three young adults in the truck were huffing or using aerosol chemicals to get high before the crash.
The driver is now being charged with, "felony counts of aggravated assault while driving under the influence and being under the influence of a solvent or noxious substance at the time of the crash."
The Roaring Spring Police Chief says, "his department is seeing more cases of young people using house-hold chemicals to get high despite the danger of the practice."

Woman Neglects Children While Huffing
A 30-year-old woman was found slumped inside her car while her children were left unattended.
The woman had been huffing a can of aerosol spray in the parking lot of a nearby park. A screaming 8-month-old was found sweating with a full diaper in their carseat. Her 3 and 4-year-old were playing at the park unsupervised.
A puddle of the woman's vomit was found outside of her door as well as urine inside the car.
Police weren't sure how long the woman was unresponsive but did find an aerosol can that was cool to the touch.
After refusing an ambulance the woman was taken to jail and the children were taken to their grandparents.

The abuse of common household cleaners are on the rise amongst teens. In the past years teens have been huffing dust remover used to clean crevices in electronic equipment.
Various fatal and deadly chemicals make up the contents of these aerosol cleaners.
Huffing inhalants has shown to cause hearing loss, limb spasms and brain damage.

Convicted Rapist Caught Huffing in Newport, Oregon

A convicted rapist in Newport, Oregon was caught huffing from an aerosol can last Saturday on a no-bail warrant for a parole violation.
The man was contacted after the police received reports about a man inhaling fumes from a can. He was first taken to the hospital, due to his highly intoxicated nature.
Once released, he was arrested on parole violation charges from convictions for rape and robbery. He was also charged for disorderly conduct.

On July 26th at 4 in the afternoon, police and EMTs responded to a report of an unconscious male. They were able to revive the man but he refused medical treatment. He was arrested "for abuse of glue or aerosol spray."
