Police arrested an Ohio woman for abuse of harmful intoxicants. The police responded to a report of someone, "huffing paint and causing a disturbance". Once on the scene, officers said the woman, "had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on her feet." They also found a trash bag with gold paint in it and a can of gold spray paint inside the woman's jacket pocket.

Three Springerville Men Arrested

Three men ages 17, 22, and 28, were arrested in Springerville.
The three were in a Springerville hotel when a strange odor was emanating from their room. When police arrived to investigate they found the 28 year old man who appeared to be intoxicated.
Police entered the room and found drug paraphernalia, controlled substances, and gold spray paint, which he admitted to huffing with friends, three hours before police arrived.
When police asked him where his friends had gone, he reported that they were in the bathroom. When backup arrived the police entered the bathroom and found the 17 and the 22 year old.
The 22 and 28 year old was arrested and charged with: possession of drug paraphernalia, possession and sale of a controlled substance, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and aggravated criminal damage.
The 17 year old was referred to a juvenile court before being turned over to his mother.

Man Arrested for the 48th Time for Huffing Paint

A Fort Wayne man was arrested for the 48th time on Thursday, after his wife called the police and told them he was in their apartment huffing paint.
When an officer arrived, he found the woman outside of the apartment, afraid to enter. The woman gave the officer the key and followed him up the stairs.
When the officer entered the apartment he found the man sitting on the couch, his face and hands covered in silver spray paint. Police reported that he had a can of silver spray paint in his right hand and a paint covered bag in his left.
He was arrested and charged, for the 48th time since 1992, with inhaling toxic vapors.

Four Juveniles Arrested on Drinking, Graffiti, and Drug Charges

Four teens and a 28 year old man were arrested on April 19, when police responded to a complaint that there were people drinking on the property of a local elementary school. The first call was placed at 11PM. The second call came only minutes later when a caller reported that there were two kids "tagging" or painting graffiti on the property.
When police arrived, the three officers approached two of the suspects who then fled in opposite directions. One officer, who pursued one of the suspects alone, was rounding a corner when the suspect jumped out at the officer and held out his hand. The officer, fearing for his life shot the suspect through the extended wrist.
The 28 year old man (who what shot) had a blood alcohol level of .374, an hour after the shooting.
The investigation led police to the four juveniles who were with the man at the school.
In addition to drinking and huffing, the four juveniles were responsible for an estimated $10,000 in damages to the property.

Parents and Students to Host Summit on Refrigerant Huffing

After reports of recent thefts of refrigerant in the area, parents and teens are coming together to talk about drugs and alcohol. A local expert will attend the event tonight to answer questions about the dangers of refrigerant inhalation.
The summit comes just after a local 18 year old was arrested on five counts of larceny for stealing refrigerant for himself and other teens to huff.
Damilola Joseph with WakeMed said, "If they're huffing you can get frostbite to the nose, to the mouth, to the face. You can have brain damage."
The summit is to begin at 6:30 tonight and will be held at Fox Road Elementary in Raleigh.

Apex Police Say Suspects Steal Refrigerant for Huffing

Apex police are investigating at least two reports of refrigerant stolen from air conditioning units. They believe the thieves used the refrigerant as an inhalant. One person was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Local hospitals see a few cases of people sickened by refrigerant abuse, though the state does not track these cases.
It is reported that refrigerant abuse is becoming more popular with teens. Damilola Joseph, a pediatric emergency medicine fellow at WakeMed (a local hospital) said, “It’s easy. It’s cheap. Pre-teens and teens don’t have to go out and find expensive chemicals to do this. And they think it’s cool.”
She says, "Don't assume your teenagers or pre-teenagers aren't doing this. These chemicals are everywhere. They're in the household. Please, please, please talk to your teenagers and your pre-teens."

Tennessee shop Closed for selling whip-its

Authorities in Memphis closed down Tokens, a local shop near the University of Memphis. After receiving repeated complaints from local citizens and nearby businesses regarding the business's conduct and clientele, the DA filed a Public Nuisance claim against the owner.
The report states that on 11 separate occasions detectives from the organized crime bureau purchased nitrous oxide inhalants and whip-it related tools at the store.
The report states that the employees knew what they were selling as well as the intended use of the products, which violates Tennessee law.

Open door leads OPD to suspected nitrous users

On February 8 Owensboro Police officers went to investigate an open door at a local business. When they entered the building, they encountered two individuals who had tampered with two nitrous tanks.
Officers said they also found two balloons which they believe were being used to inhale the nitrou

Teenager Crashes Truck into Bedroom in Poplar Bluff

Poplar Bluff, MO
A woman escaped major injury when a truck driven by a teenager, who is accused of huffing duster while driving, crashed through her bedroom wall.
The truck crashed through the outer wall and came to rest in her bedroom. She sustained scrapes and bruising to the head which was caused by the truck tire.
The accident happened at 3PM on Sunday. The driver, reportedly disoriented, exited on the passenger side of the vehicle and fled the scene.
