Man Arrested for Stealing and Huffing an Inhalant

Police in Lacey, New Jersey arrested a man for stealing two cans of duster and huffing one of them in a store bathroom. They found the 31-year-old on the floor, conscious with minor injuries. He has been charged with shoplifting and using an inhalant.

Kentucky Woman Arrested After Found Passed Out from Huffing

"A Laurel County woman is behind bars after police say she was caught huffing and unable to tell them where her child was.
The sheriff's department says deputies found [the woman] unresponsive outside a home."
They say at one point, the woman jumped up and began huffing again.
Deputies say she told them a child was in the home, but they later discovered that the 9-year-old was at school.
The woman is charged with public intoxication and volatile substance abuse."

Green Bay Woman Faces Jail for Huffing OWI Offense

A 41-year-old Green Bay woman faces an 18-month prison sentence after receiving her 5th DUI, in addition to three years of additional supervision and three years with her driver's license revoked. Police pulled the woman over for erratic driving and discovered cold cans of compressed air, indicating recent and prolonged use. Because of four previous DUI offenses, the incident of driving under the influence of inhalants qualified as a fifth offense, leading to jail time. She was also sentenced to nine months in jail on a misdemeanor charge of intentionally abusing a hazardous substance, which will be served at the same time.

Ohio Man Arrested for Huffing

Port Clinton Police arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly huffing out of compressed gas cans earlier this week. Police responded to an anonymous report that a man was seen outside of a laundry mat huffing something out of cans and appeared intoxicated. The man was found with a compressed gas can in one hand and a second in his pocket. He was charged with abusing harmful intoxicants and was taken to the Ottowa County Jail where he remains on $5000 bond.

Montana Teen Causes Accident While Driving After Huffing

A Helena, Montana teen blacked out while driving after huffing, causing her to run a red light and slam into another vehicle. The teenager and another passenger were huffing from a can of computer duster prior to the accident. The 17-year-old female driver is now facing felony charges for causing the crash and the month-long hospitalization of the other vehicle’s 88-year-old driver.

Florida Man Arrested for Huffing at Delray Beach

A 23-year-old Florida man was arrested by Delray Beach police for allegedly inhaling a can of duster spray.   Police received a report of a man who appeared to be inhaling something from a can.  Officers found the man sitting, slumped over on a sidewalk.  An officer saw a can of duster spray sticking from the man's backpack.  He faces a charge of inhaling or ingesting harmful chemicals.

Michigan Man Arrested For Huffing

A 36-year-old man was found sitting in his car where he had been huffing inhalants.  Police officers discovered multiple cans of inhalants inside the man’s car. The man became aggressive as officers approached, and a struggle between officers and the man occurred.  He was shot with a taser gun to calm him down. The man was arrested and charged with huffing inhalants and resisting an officer.

Georgia Man Found Unconscious After Huffing

 A 22 year-old Georgia man was arrested after being found lying unconscious in the woods.

The man was reported to have been lying in a parking lot when police were called.  The man allegedly began fighting with an off-duty officer before running off into the woods.  He was lying on his back in the woods when on-duty officers arrived and walked into the woods to follow him.  According to police the man, "was unresponsive and (his) eyes were rolled to the back of his head."  The man had a can of dusting spray in his hand.  As the police removed the can from his hand he became responsive.  He was able to walk with the police, but was unaware of what was going on.

Earlier in the day, the man had been suspected of shoplifting at Walmart and Target and had been escorted to the hospital due to huffing aerosol products from the stores.  The man refused medical attention during the second arrest.  He was issued a criminal trespass warning, arrested, and jailed on charges of loitering and public drunkenness.

Indiana Man Arrested For Huffing Computer Dusting Spray

Police found a 36-year-old man slumped over a vehicle steering wheel last week in the parking lot of an Indiana Wal-Mart. Though the man was incoherent when he was found, police determined that he had been huffing computer duster spray and he was subsequently arrested. He was charged with public intoxication and inhaling toxic fumes.

Pennsylvania Man Faces Fourth Charge of Huffing Dusters

A Pennsylvania man, 30-years-old, faces another charge of huffing computer dusting spray after police say they found him passed out near a wholesale club. 

The man,  "allegedly took at least two canisters of cleaner from the.. store Friday evening. The 30-year-old had inhaled one can and was in the process of inhaling another when he passed out near the store about 7 p.m."

Police responded to reports of an unconscious male lying on the ground.  Hours before, the police say they caught the same man huffing on two separate occasions.    At 1:20pm that afternoon police were called where they found the man inhaling dusters. He was released after being charged with inhaling toxic chemicals and littering.

Two hours later the police were called again to another location.  The same man was again charged and released. 

Two days later, the man was caught a fourth time when he took a can of duster spray from a Wal-Mart shelf and starting inhaling.  He became violent and was subdued by several customers in the store. 

"As a result of the incidents, [the man] faces two counts of shoplifting and littering as well as four counts of purposely inhaling a toxic chemical. He also faces a charge of disorderly conduct."  He was taken to the county jail and lodged in lieu of $1,800 bail.

Inhalant Abuse Causes Evacuation in Pennsylvania

This past July an 18 year old crashed his car into a natural gas valve, causing the evacuation of 700 residents. Toxicology tests indicated inhalant abuse and he was charged with “DUI, illegal use of solvents or inhalants, illegal possession of solvents and inhalants, and duties at stop signs.”
