Midland County, Michigan- A 17 year-old boy was arrested for drugged driving after crashing his car into several parked vehicles. He had passed out behind the wheel after huffing an unspecified chemical.

A man was charged with a misdemeanor count of intentionally abusing a hazadous substance, obstructing an officer, and disorderly conduct. The man huffed aerosol duster in a shopping center bathroom before falling unconscious. He was found by officers who knocked the door when he refused to come out. The man denied he was huffing.

Woman Dies from Huffing

A couple had been huffing duster inside a store when they fell unconscious. The man awoke and realized his girlfriend was unconscious. The woman died from overdosing on inhalants.

Over 50 aerosol cans were found in the car that were reportedly used over an extended period of time. The woman had been arrested previously for huffing duster.

Man Goes to Trial for Deadly Huffing Related Crash

A Wisconsin man is set to go to trial for vehicular homicide. The man admitted to huffing duster before losing consciousness and killing a pedestrian in 2015. His lawyer claims the accident was caused by the driver removing a hand brace, which distracted him. His lawyer also states that the prosecutor must prove that he was intoxicated. He fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian. Police later found a can of air duster in his vehicle. The man reportedly told seven people that he believed huffing duster led to the crash. At the hospital, he tested positive for difluoroethane, the active ingredient in duster, but later tested negative upon retesting. His lawyer stated that her client huffed duster to ease pain from an existing injury.

A Florida man was found passed out in his car with smoke pouring out of the hood. The man was huffing keyboard cleaner while driving and caused a scene. The car was in neutral, causing the engine to burn out. The man was taken to the hospital. No charges have been made as of yet.

A 22 year old Espanola man nearly dies after passing out while huffing an air duster in a mall washroom. Police found the man slumped over in the stall. The man was charged with shoplifting and violating prohibition for consumption of toxic substances.

Maine Man Found Unconscious on Riverbank After Huffing Paint

Earlier this week, a bicycle rider noticed a man lying on the bank of the Kennebec River and after unsuccessfully trying to wake him, he called 911.  When they responded, police found a 20 year old male unconscious and intoxicated with empty alcohol containers near him and an empty paint can nearby. 

The first rescue scene on the scene called for additional manpower to assist in removing the man and he was transported to the hospital.  He is suspected of having huffed paint "which is illegal use of an inhalant and is a criminal offense."

New Jersey woman arrested three times in one day for huffing

A 29-year-old Long Valley woman was repeatedly arrested on Saturday, June 28^th for inhaling computer cleaner at several stores in a Walmart shopping center. Police found the woman in the bathroom of a department store with a can of computer duster in her hand. Instead of releasing the can as instructed, the woman inhaled from it. She was arrested and charged with inhaling a controlled dangerous substance.

Later that day, police were called back to the shopping center for the same woman who was passed out in the grass and holding another can of computer duster. After being advised to put down the can, she inhaled from it and passed out from the fumes. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital and charged with inhaling a controlled dangerous substance and for shoplifting two cans of computer duster from the Walmart.

After her discharge from the hospital, the same woman was found in the bathroom of another store inhaling computer duster. After being told by police to put down the can and open the door, the woman inhaled the substance. The police kicked the door in to gain access and found the woman unresponsive. The police began rescue breathing and called the emergency squad. The woman began to breathe and was transported to the hospital again. Police have contacted Crisis Intervention to offer the woman counseling and assistance.

South Dakota Man Huffs Duster and Passes Out in Car

Police officers responding to a call of someone huffing in a parking lot found a man passed out in his car with a can of computer dusting spray in his hand. There were additional cans in the car and signs that the man had been huffing were evident.

Ohio Man Passes Out in Street After Huffing Inhalants

Police responded to concerns regarding a 21 year old man who was passed out in the street.  By the time officers responded the man had regained consciousness and was walking down the street carrying an aerosol can. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and charged with abusing harmful intoxicants, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

Connecticut Man Passes Out After Huffing Computer Duster

A 27 year old male was arrested earlier this month after he was found huffing from a can of computer dusting spray.

Police responded to a call for a suspicious person and found the man unconscious, leaning against a building with a can of duster in his lap. He admitted to huffing the product.  Police noted that huffing is not considered a crime because “there are no specific inhalant laws in Connecticut.”  

South Carolina Passed Out From Inhalants While Car Running

A 30 year old man has been charged with driving under suspension and inhaling aromatics hydrocarbons after being found unconscious in his car this past weekend.

Last Sunday evening a deputy responded to a call for a male passed out in a car when he found a car parked sideways, blocking a street and still running.  A man was slumped over in the driver’s seat with his foot on the brake.  He was “sluggish, had slurred speech, and had silver paint around his mouth.” Inside the car the deputy found a can of silver spray paint and a sock with silver paint on it.

Two Arrested After Huffing in Iowa

Police in Spencer responded to a report of a passed out person. Upon arrival they found a 19 year-old male unresponsive and with a can of computer duster in his hand. He was arrested and taken into custody once he came to. An 18 year-old male was also arrested. He was found to have been leaving the scene with two cans in his possession.

The article notes “under Clay County Ordinance that the Penalty for Possession of Huffing Paraphernalia is up to $150, and up to $300 fine for huffing.”

Unconscious Person Reported in Home Depot

Police received a report about an unconscious person in a Home Depot.

The unconscious person was a 41-year-old woman who had been huffing dust cleaner in the store. She was reportedly found collapsed in the floral section.

When a man awoke her, she began huffing more dust cleaner. The man then tried to take the can from her possession, prompting her to get up off the ground knocking over two flower pots in the process.

The woman then fled the store.

When police arrived she was found walking through a wooded embankment where she confessed to huffing cans but was unable to show proof of purchase for each can in her possession.

Two Separate Emergency Calls Made to Niles PD Both Involving Suspected Inhalant Abuse

Niles Police and Fire Department responded to two separate emergency calls both involving suspected inhalant abuse.

First responders found the first woman on the ground unconscious next to a can of dust cleaner. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The second call involved a 43-year-old woman who was acting suspiciously in the parking lot of a retail store. Police reported that the woman was huffing/inhaling the contents from an unidentified can. They later found her passed out behind a dumpster, where she was then taken to the hospital.
