South Carolina Passed Out From Inhalants While Car Running



Via The Spartanburg Herald Journal in South Carolina:
A 30 year old man has been charged with driving under suspension and inhaling aromatics hydrocarbons after being found unconscious in his car this past weekend.
Last Sunday evening a deputy responded to a call for a male passed out in a car when he found a car parked sideways, blocking a street and still running.  A man was slumped over in the driver’s seat with his foot on the brake.  He was “sluggish, had slurred speech, and had silver paint around his mouth.” Inside the car the deputy found a can of silver spray paint and a sock with silver paint on it.

Revised DUI laws take effect Wednesday in Washington State

New DUI laws that take effect Aug. 1 include higher fines and mandatory blood draws for felony DUI-related crimes. The new law also adds additional chemicals and "huffing" inhalants to the list of intoxicating substances subject to penalties.

Huffer Hit-and-Run

Via The Virginia Gazette:

A Virginia man was allegedly huffing computer duster while driving and hit another car, causing $5,000 worth of damage. The man kept driving despite the fact that his left front tire came off.

Police later found him in a nearby neighborhood and said he was “somewhat incoherent.” The man is being charged with felony hit-and-run, DUI, and driving on a suspended license.

The driver of the struck car suffered minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.

Woman Huffs Herself Back to the Authorities

A woman was charged with intentionally inhaling model glue 9 hours after being released on bail for a similar incident.

The 23-year-old woman was spotted huffing behind a restaurant by an employee. When the employee called for help the woman took off.

Authorities found the woman across the street with the nozzle of the can in her mouth, she was then charged.

This same woman was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license (second offense), driving with a suspended tag, failure to maintain lane, two counts of reckless driving and DUI (second offense)just a month ago.

Woman Huffs Nail Polish Remover While Driving

A 27-year-old woman was charged with abusing harmful intoxicants, driving under suspension, driving outside of the marked lanes and not wearing a seat belt after she was found huffing nail polish remover while operating her vehicle.

Police received a report that a driver had been weaving in and out of lanes on a state route. When authorities arrived to the scene, the woman was weaving over the lane divider.

The woman was arrested.
