A 13-year-old girl in Fiji was treated for substance abuse which involved glue. She was taken in when she was found overdosed. Sources say there has been a rise in the amount of children coming into metal institutions in what appears to be the beginning stages of substance abuse, especially glue.

North Dakota Police Find 2 Passed Out From Sniffing Glue

Police say they found two “unresponsive” men sitting in a car early Wednesday morning in Grand Forks, apparently passed out from “huffing” glue. In court, the judge lectured the two, telling them “you should be charged with stupidity as well. That’s a very dangerous activity and you are lucky you were observed by a police officer.”

Ipswich Pushes for Huffing Control
Footage of two girls on a four hour huffing binge was released to the public on a local Ipswich television station surfaced the news.
Sniffing or huffing inhalants is not illegal for Ipswich teens. The mayor of Ipswich was quoted saying that huffing teens should be put in rehabilitation centers to get help.
Police intervened after the binge but were limited to what they could do to the huffing girls. The glue was confiscated, their health was assesed and their names were recorded.
More police are being sent to the area to stop people from huffing.

Woman Huffs Herself Back to the Authorities
A woman was charged with intentionally inhaling model glue 9 hours after being released on bail for a similar incident.
The 23-year-old woman was spotted huffing behind a restaurant by an employee. When the employee called for help the woman took off.
Authorities found the woman across the street with the nozzle of the can in her mouth, she was then charged.
This same woman was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license (second offense), driving with a suspended tag, failure to maintain lane, two counts of reckless driving and DUI (second offense)just a month ago.

Father of Two Found Huffing Shoe Glue In Front Of Kids

A 33 year-old father of two has been accused of huffing. Last Sunday police responded to a report of child endangerment. Two officers responded and “were immediately hit with an overpowering smell of a solvent.”
An infant was sitting in a car seat about 3 feet from a man with two tubes of shoe glue and a plastic bag containing the substance. The report notes that another empty tube of the product was on a stand next to the chair.
The man told the officers he had been using the substance to repair his shoes but when the shoes couldn’t be located, he responded he had repaired them weeks ago. The officers noted the strong smell in the house along with “a strong solvent odor coming from his breath and body.” In addition they noted he also seemed “disoriented, confused, and had watery, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.”
The man’s wife gave police a written statement that he had been inhaling glue all day. He was charged with “two counts of endangering the welfare of children and one count of illegal use of certain solvents and noxious substances.”

Couple Sniffs Glue In Front Of Child

A mother and father are in jail after authorities caught them sniffing glue while driving their 2-month-old child from a local shopping mall early Thursday. According to police reports the couple was initially pulled over by “a member if the sheriff’s Interstate Crime Enforcement Unit” for excessive speeding- traveling 77 mph in a 60 mph zone. However upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy “smelled the overwhelming odor of a toxic chemical, saw several glue tubes on the floorboard, and observed glue particles on the lips, noise, hands, and clothing of the couple.”
After submitting to police questioning the noticeably impaired couple, both 26, admitted they had been sniffing glue while on their way home from a shopping trip with their child. Both are being charged with “abuse of toxic vapors and cruelty to a juvenile.” The infant was taken to a nearby medical center for evaluation and is currently in the custody of Child Protective Services.
