An officer found a woman huffing nitrous oxide in a parking lot after a citizen informed the police of her suspicious behavior. Police found other drugs on her persons. She was charged with possession of a restricted substance, possession of a hallucinogenic substance, illegal possession of MDMA and drug paraphernalia, as well as operating a vehicle with a suspended licences.

Man Arrested Two Days in a Row for Huffing

A man was huffing computer duster. He was arrested for acting strangely; hitting himself, and yelling in a park. He was jailed for violating parole, but was later released shortly after. The next day he was arrested again for abusing harmful intoxicants and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Oregon Park Becomes Less Family-Friendly

Residents and officials near Lions Park are becoming frustrated with the growing use of the park for drug-related activities. Drug paraphernalia and homemade weapons can be found scattered across an area that was intended to be family-friendly. Police have found paraphernalia for inhaling nitrous oxide through balloons. The police chief explained that “the park offers protection (from rain) and a dark place for drug users to hide.”
“If you inhale nitrous oxide for too long you can pass out,” said Dr. Robbie Law. “You could vomit on yourself and potentially die.” Area police are increasing their surveillance in the hopes of eliminating the criminal activity.

Sexual Offender Inhales Paint, Pants Down In Front Of Community Center

A 37-year-old man, high on paint fumes, walked up to occupied cars near a Jewish community center and knocked on their windows. With silver paint on his face, he yelled at people who would not roll down their windows. One witness told police she saw him “angrily pull down his pants.” Police found two cans of spray paint with him in a drawstring bag. The man was charged with simple trespass, breach of peace, administering restricted substances and use of drug paraphernalia.
The man had been released from prison four days earlier and was on probation at the time of the most recent arrest. He was released from prison after being sentenced in February for violating his probation. The probation was part of a sentence for a 2002 conviction for one count of first-degree burglary and three sexual assault-related charges. He is on the state's sex offender registry. His criminal history of inhaling substances stretches back to 1998.

Authorities Find "Whip Its" in Routine Traffic Stop
In a routine traffic stop, authorities found an 18-year-old driver and three underage teens in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphenalia. All were arrested and charged with marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, and distribution of marijuana.
"Whip its" (cans of nitrous oxide) were also found.

Another Case of Huffing in a Parking Lot

Last Wednesday, a 32 year-old woman and a 48 year-old man were found in a running vehicle in a Bank of America parking lot. Police noticed they had been huffing from two cans.
They individuals were charged with “inhaling toxic chemical fumes and possession of drug paraphernalia.” The driver was also charged with driving while intoxicated.

Paint 'Huffer' Attacks Officer

Earlier this month a 46-year-old Las Cruces man was arrested and jailed for his unmitigated attack on a local police officer. Police were responding to a report of vandalism when they found a 46-year-old man inhaling paint at a busy intersection. One officer “reported smelling paint on the man’s breath and even discovered a can of paint in one of his pockets.” The paint ‘huffer’ was placed into custody and brought to the Las Cruces County Jail on charges of criminal property damage and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following his arrival to jail the suspect grew agitated and refused to follow simple police orders; aggressively lunging at one officer who was trying to get him to sit on a bench. The suspect reportedly “became and angry and lost control; knocking the officer over and pinning him into a corner where he repeatedly kneed the officer four or five times in the legs and attempted to bite him.” According to incident reports, the officer fought back and was eventually able to restrain the suspect. No serious injuries were reported. The 46-year-old later blamed his outburst on ‘huffing’ and was charged with felony battery on a police officer.

Police have arrested the owner of a Bowling Green business for selling drug paraphernalia and trafficking in harmful intoxicants. Last weekend several officers raided the business and seized drug paraphernalia along with a supply of nitrous oxide whippets and “crackers”- which are specially designed to open canisters of nitrous oxide.
When questioned by the police, the owner stated that the alleged “whippets” were merely “whipped cream chargers used for baking.” However, several confidential informants were recruited by local police to “go in to the store, purchase items, and speak with the employees about specific merchandise” and their intended use. Informants told police the owner was well aware he was selling items that promoted drug use. The store’s owner is facing three felony charges and up to 18 months in jail for drug trafficking.
