Strongsville, OH - A man was found huffing computer duster in a Walmart by local police and later arrested. When police arrived on the scene, the man pulled out a knife and held it to his throat prompting officers to tase him to avoid injury. He was later taken to the hospital and remains under police guard.

Indiana Man Dies from Huffing

A 34-year-old man died after huffing. Police and paramedics arrived at his home early that morning. Police saw him huffing from an aerosol can, the man became combative when police took the can away. Two tasers were reportedly required to subdue and handcuff him. He was taken by police to the emergency room but was pronounced dead shortly after. An autopsy report will be available within a few weeks. The man had a long history of drug abuse.

Police User Taser on Inhalant Abuser in Oregon
Via Fox 12 in Oregon:
A school was put into lockdown after workers noticed a suspicious man on campus. He was incoherent and not responding to staff members. When police responded they found the 33 year old mumbling and acting aggressive. He resisted arrest but when they used a Taser, it had no effect on him.
It took three more deputies to place the man in handcuffs and strap him to an ambulance gurney so he could be evaluated at the hospital. A search of his car revealed a heavy odor of gasoline and cleaner which he is accused of inhaling.

Colorado Man Tased After Huffing

A 38-year old man was shot with a Taser yesterday morning as
he was fleeing from the police. Police had responded to a report of a
suspicious man in a car and when the approached the vehicle he drove off. About
a mile down the road he pulled off the road and emerged from the car holding a
rag to his face and acting unresponsive to police.
He was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of a peace officer and abuse
of toxic vapors.

Virginia Man Acts Erratically After Huffing Disinfectant Spray

Earlier this week police in Arlington, Virginia responded to an incident where an 18 year old man was acting erratically after allegedly huffing a disinfectant spray. The man’s roommates were concerned when he started“hissing, speaking in tongues, shaking uncontrollably, trying to eat coins and had attempted to set his mattress on fire.”
When police arrived the man was “naked and still attempting to eat coins.” He resisted arrest, staying on all fours and growling at the officers, When he was tased, he tried to eat the taser cords. The man voluntarily committed himself for psychiatric evaluation.

Huffer Continues to Run from Police

A man in Missouri has been charged with resisting arrest after he fled from police for the third time. The man has a criminal record which includes domestic assault, driving while intoxicated, and endangering the welfare of a child.
On March 15th, police found the man on the ground after he had been huffing. When they tried to arrest him, he ran from police. Two days later, the man attacked law enforcement officers but ran away even after being "Tased."
On April 1st, the man was trying to steal compressed air and fled to the house of "the victim of the previous domestic assault charge." According to police, the man "grabbed several knives" and "said deputies would have to kill him." The man then jumped out of a second story window.

Tasered After Huffing in Wisconsin

Last week a 26 year old man was charged with “intentionally abusing a hazardous substance” after an incident earlier this summer.
On August 12th, an officer was conducting a traffic stop when the 26 year old man began yelling and waving his arms to call him over. When he arrived at the park and ride lot the officer found the man slumped over, passed out in his car. The man woke up and started huffing from a can of computer dusting spray. The officer tried to take the can away but was unable to so he shocked the man with a Taser.

Tasered Man Catches On Fire

A 31 year-old man who was reportedly resisting police arrest, found himself engulfed in flames after officers shot him with a Taser stun gun. Police were notified of the incident, receiving reports from eye-witnesses who saw the suspect running erratically through parking lots adjacent to a busy shopping center, dodging traffic, and spraying aerosol into his mouth.
When police arrived at the scene, one officer was able to catch the suspect and force him down to the ground. Police reports state that the suspect, high from huffing aerosol, struggled with an officer who was trying to handcuff him; allegedly kicking, biting, and “making gestures with his hand as if he were reaching for a firearm in his waistband” requiring a second officer to activate his Taser stun gun to demobilize the suspect.
“One of the officers then spotted a flame on his chest, and both officers quickly patted out the flame.” No one was seriously injured in the incident, but the suspect was taken to a nearby hospital “for treatment of burns to his chest.”
The Lancaster Police Department does have safety policies in place, warning against the use of Tasers when flammable substances may be present. However, Lancaster’s Chief of Police released a statement yesterday announcing the officers acted “appropriately.”

An Australian man found himself engulfed in flames earlier this month after aggressively storming police officers “with a container of petrol fuel and a cigarette lighter.” Aiming to prevent any sort of arson related attack; officers fired Taser stun guns in defense “penetrating the suspect's skin with over 50,000 volts of electricity from two copper wires attached to the gun.”
Witnesses divulged to police that the suspect was indeed sniffing petroleum at the time of the incident, allowing investigators to determine that remaining deposits of fuel located on the suspect’s face triggered the fire that left him with 3rd degree burns to over ten percent of his body.
The suspect is currently being hospitalized in Western Australia and remains in critical condition despite his close encounter with death. He is being charged with “assault to prevent arrest and possession of [an intoxicating] sniffing substance.”
