A man from Topsham Maine was arrested on the night of Monday
August 31st after inhaling keyboard cleaner and attempting to evade police.
According to local authorities, after a relatively low-speed car chase due to a
prior trespassing issue, the man crashed his SUV into a guardrail. When police
approached, he allegedly began huffing in front of them. From there, the
officers removed the keys from the ignition and took him into custody.
He was charged with operating under the influence of drugs,
driving to endanger, failure to stop for a police officer and civil possession
of inhalants. After his arrest, the man
was transported to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, where he was
held on $1,000 cash bail.
