On Monday August 31st, a woman was arrested after
inhaling keyboard cleaner while riding on the back of a motorcycle in Hobart,
Indiana. Officers first responded to the case after they received reports of a
woman lying in the middle of the street. When they found the woman in question,
she responded by stating that she was alright and that simply fallen off of the
motorcycle. Officers noticed that she had a can of keyboard cleaner in her
purse. However, she claimed that she had simply purchased it to help clean a
friend’s computer. Despite this story, the officers decided to follow her after
she got back on the motorcycle.
During this time they witnessed her huffing from the can and
subsequently going limp and nearly falling off again. Allegedly she admitted to
one of the officers that she inhaled because she was “having a bad day.”
Ultimately she was arrested and charged with inhaling toxic vapors, a
misdemeanor, and was transported to Porter County Jail. The driver claimed to
have no knowledge of her actions.
