Victim of Man who drove Under the Influence of Inhalants Offers Forgiveness

During an October court appearance, a traffic safety flagger publically forgave the 50 year old man who ran his car into her after inhaling nitrous oxide, also known as “whippets.” According to witnesses, the Portland man was weaving around traffic when he hit the woman despite her orange safety vest and sign that said “slow.” The collision left her in critical condition, although she is not beginning to heal.

After the March 25th incident, the man pled guilty to charges of third-degree assault and driving under the influence of inhalants. He is currently scheduled to face a sentencing hearing on November 2nd, 2015.
