A 25 year old man from Somers, Connecticut was arrested on
the night of Thursday October 1st 2015 and was charged with assaulting
a police, interfering with an officer and resisting arrest, disorderly conduct,
interfering with an emergency call and third-degree assault. The police originally
arrived after receiving two 911 calls from family members who reported that he
had started throwing objects and smashed a phone when a relative tried to call
911. This allegedly began after he had inhaled the contents of a can of dust
cleaner.
When the police attempted to put the young man, in
handcuffs, he bit an officer and began spitting. Due to his violent actions,
the police responded by using pepper spray. The man was arraigned in Rockville
Superior Court on Friday October 2nd and was held on $50,000 bond.
He is due back in court later in the month.
