Police in Louisville have charged a 53-year-old
man with volatile substance abuse after he was found inhaling carburetor cleaner in
his apartment.
Officers arrived at the man's apartment apartment shortly after receiving
a report of domestic violence. No one responded when the
officers knocked on the door; however, they noticed a “strong noxious smell”
coming from the apartment. The landlord opened the door to check on the tenants.
Police found the man laying in his bed huffing carburetor cleaner. He appeared
“very intoxicated,” had bloodshot eyes, and had a hard time speaking. He declined medical treatment and was arrested once it was determined he was a
danger to himself.
