Louisiana Woman Caught Huffing in High School Parking Lot

Via WAFB in Louisiana:

A 21 year old woman was recently arrested after she was found huffing computer duster in the parking lot of a local high school. A deputy found her in her car “slumped over and twitching repeatedly” with a can of computer duster in her hand. 
The driver admitted she had been huffing and four more empty cans of duster were found in the car. She noted that two of those dusters were from the previous evening. She was charged with Abuse of Toxic Vapors, a misdemeanor offense.

Connecticut Man Passes Out After Huffing Computer Duster

A 27 year old male was arrested earlier this month after he was found huffing from a can of computer dusting spray.

Police responded to a call for a suspicious person and found the man unconscious, leaning against a building with a can of duster in his lap. He admitted to huffing the product.  Police noted that huffing is not considered a crime because “there are no specific inhalant laws in Connecticut.”

Truck Explodes in Los Angeles After Driver Huffs Propane

Last Tuesday a truck exploded in North Hollywood after a man plugged in his cellphone charger while huffing propane inside the cab.  The explosion blew open the truck’s roof, shattered the windows and startled the neighbors. 
The man escaped and passed out on a lawn. When he woke he walked into the police station, with a burned scalp and face, and explained to officers what had happened earlier that morning.   

Head-on Collision in Utah Caused by Inhalant Abuse

Last week’s head-on collision is being blamed on inhalant abuse. A 33 year old man was allegedly huffing behind the wheel when he lost control of his car, drove up over the curb, and ran over the landscaping of an area business. He then crossed to the other side of the road, over the median and into oncoming traffic.
Two police officers in the area witnessed him drive head-on into a car driven by a woman with two young children in the car. He was charged with DUI, psycho-toxic chemical abuse and reckless driving.

Georgia Man Huffs Inhalants From Bag and Rolls on Ground Screaming

A 33 year old man was arrested last Tuesday after he was “found high from huffing fumes and scaring people by his strange behavior near a bus stop.” A Georgia Bureau of Investigations agent was driving in the area when he saw the man spray an aerosol can into a bag then huff from the bag. He then began to scream and roll around on the ground. The agent notified police who then arrested the man on charges of intentionally inhaling fumes, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Propane Ruled As Cause of Death in Alaska

A 31 year old man is dead after apparently huffing propane. We was reported missing on Saturday and on Sunday his uncle found his body on the top of four foot propane tanks. Alaska State Troopers classified the death as accidental because they did not believe the man intended to kill himself.”

Alarming New Inhalant Data in Pennsylvania

The results of the Pennsylvania Youth Survey have been released- and reveal that “inhalant use is a problem among middle school students in Cumberland and Perry Counties.”
Percentage of 8th grader that have used inhalants at least once:

·         Perry County: 14%

·         Cumberland County: 18%

Percentage of 8th graders that reported using inhalants in the past 30 days:

·         Perry County: 8%

·         Cumberland County: 14%

Comparatively, 6% of 8th graders in Pennsylvania and 3% of 8th graders in the US reported using inhalants in the past 30 days.

North Dakota Man Passes Out in Car While Huffing

A 39 year old man was arrested for huffing and DUI after he was found passed out in a car that was parked partially on the street and partially on the grass. The officer pounded on the window to wake the man up and when he came to he took a hit from a can of computer duster and passed back out.  He awoke the second time, took another hit of the duster and opened the door.

He was taken to the hospital, treated and released. He faces charges of “inhaling intoxicating vapors and actual physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.”

Pennsylvania Man Arrested for Inhalant Abuse

A 25 year old man has been charged with possession of toxic inhalants after an incident last Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to a report of a driver passed out behind the wheel while at a stoplight. Another driver reported an intoxicated driver in a car matching the same description. Police found the car at a nearby gas station and the driver had computer cleaner wrapped in a t-shirt.  He had been huffing the product to get high and was arrested.

Wisconsin Woman Crashes Car After Huffing Behind the Wheel

After drinking 12 beers and huffing computer dusting spray a 24 year old woman passed out behind the wheel and crashed her boyfriend’s car into the side of a Burger King restaurant.  She faces charges of “operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, intentionally abusing a hazardous substance, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and meth, second-offense operating while intoxicated and felony bail jumping.”

Pennsylvania Man Caught Huffing Four Times in Seven Months

A Waynesboro man is facing charges from four inhalant abuse incidents in the past seven months.


On April 29 police arrested the man after finding him hunched over in his seat in a Lowes parking lot huffing from a can of computer dusting spray.  On June 25th he was again arrested after police found him in his car in a Wal-Mart parking lot, huffing from a can of computer dusting spray.  On July 22nd Pennsylvania state police found him passed out in the driver’s seat with a can of duster in his hand.  On August 16 he was once again found in his car along the side of the road huffing from a can of duster.  He is “facing three counts of sale or illegal use of certain solvents or noxious substances, one count of smell or inhale toxic releasing substances and two counts of DUI.”

Colorado Man Tased After Huffing

A 38-year old man was shot with a Taser yesterday morning as he was fleeing from the police. Police had responded to a report of a suspicious man in a car and when the approached the vehicle he drove off. About a mile down the road he pulled off the road and emerged from the car holding a rag to his face and acting unresponsive to police.  He was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of a peace officer and abuse of toxic vapors.

Illinois Man Found Huffing in Restroom while Train Service Suspended and Store Evacuated

A 30 year old man has been charged with disorderly conduct, use intoxicating compounds, and retail theft.  On Friday evening train service was suspended after workers saw a man place a duffel bag close to the tracks and walk away.  Police officers found the man in a nearby drugstore bathroom where he locked himself inside while huffing from two cans of computer keyboard cleaner he had stolen off the shelf.  The store had to be evacuated and service to the station was disrupted for more than an hour and a half.

Four Year Old Requires Surgery After Mom Huffs Behind the Wheel and Crashes Car

A 25 year old woman ran her car off the road and into the entrance of a church after huffing computer duster behind the wheel. With her in the car were three young children ages 5 years, 4 years, and 4 months. Her four year old daughter had to be taken to the hospital for surgery after she sustained serious lacerations to her face. The driver was charged with five felonies.
