Illinois Man Arrested Twice in One Weekend for Inhalant Abuse

Via the Joliet Patch in Illinois:

A 25 year old man was arrested twice in one weekend for abusing inhalants.

On Friday morning, police arrested the man after they noticed him huffing computer dusting spray.  He was charged with unlawful use of intoxicating compounds and released.  Saturday afternoon police found the man laying in the road, again after he had been huffing. He was charged with use, sale or delivery of intoxicating compounds. It was a violation of his bond requirement so he was placed in jail.

Records show the man had previously been arrested in May and July this past year and in November 2009 and August 2008 on similar charges.

Massachusetts Repeat Offender

Via the Braintree Patch in Massachusetts:

Last week, a Massachusetts man was arrested for the second time this month for “creating a disturbance” while huffing. The man had previously been arrested for huffing and harassing customers at a local store.

Most recently, the man was shouting threats at his neighbors in a condominium complex. When police arrived on the scene, they reported that they “could hear hissing sounds that they associated with huffing.” The man was semi-conscious and had a can of industrial strength duster.

The man resisted arrest, so police pepper-sprayed him. He was charged with inhaling toxic vapors and resisting arrest.

Propane Huffer Arrested for Violating Restraining Order

Via Miami NewTimes in Florida:

A Miami man was arrested after violating the restraining order that the Miami City Police Commissioner has against him.

The man, whom one reporter calls “the self-appointed nemesis” of the commissioner, has been known to huff propane and then tear down the commissioner’s re-election signs

The man admits to huffing, saying, “I inhale propane gas to get high, but I am not the least bit nutty.”

The man’s bond was set at $5,000, but he stayed in jail over the weekend because of a preexisting misdemeanor charge.

Woman Resists Arrest after Huffing

Via the Tucson Citizen in Arizona:

A 24-year-old Arizona woman was arrested after she passed out in her car after huffing.

Police found the woman with her car still running and an aerosol can in her lap. An officer turned off the car and had some difficulty waking the young woman. When she finally came to, the young woman tried to inhale from the aerosol can, but the officer confiscated it. Police also found a pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine in the woman’s purse.

According to a passenger who was in the car, the young woman had been huffing for several miles despite being asked to stop. She finally blew out her tire after running into a curb.

Police arrested the woman and placed her in the back of a patrol car. According to the police report, the young woman “became enraged and tried to kick out the rear passenger door window.” The woman remained uncooperative when she arrived at the jail and was placed in an isolation cell.

The woman’s charges include driving with a suspended license, toxic vapors, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
