Felony Charges in Wisconsin Huffing Incident

Via the Chippewa Herald in Wisconsin:

Last month a 16 year old male was found in a school bathroom, unconscious and bleeding from the mouth. A custodian found the boy who later told police and school officials that he had been pushed by another student.

School officials checked surveillance video and questioned an 18 year old male who had been in the bathroom at the same time. He said the two had been texting and agreed to meet in the bathroom. When he came out of the stall he saw the 16 year old lying on the floor but instead of checking him, he just left him and went to class.

Eventually, both students admitted the incident involved inhalant abuse. The 16 year old admitted he had bought a can of computer dusting spray after “seeing a report on MTV about huffing.” The 18 year old had the can and the two agreed to meet in the bathroom. The 16 admitted he had “huffed” the product and lost consciousness. The 18 year old has been charged with second degree reckless endangerment, distributing a hazardous substance while knowing that it would be abused, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct and contributing to the delinquency of a child.”
