Man Charged for Biting Officer, Huffing Paint

In recent news that is both interesting and sad, a twenty-year-old man is facing charges for biting a police officer after inhaling paint fumes. Jeremy Wanamaker, of Van Buren, Arkansas, was held for felony battery, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental operations, and being under the influence of an intoxicating compound. Police officer Quincy Cherry received a report that someone was inhaling paint out of a bag on their balcony. After officers arrived, Wanamaker became violent and continued to shout "I rebuke you; I am Jesus" as he was pursued.

Two officers had to hold him down to place handcuffs on him even after being tased. Police lieutenant Brent Grills said,

"They finally just, both of em got on top of him, the officer (Cherry) had him from behind; he bit him on the forearm, started biting him so they had to tase him again to get him to quit biting. Then they were able to get the handcuffs on him"

Grill also claimed that the chemicals that are inhaled while huffing pain distort pain tolerance. He described both officers as over six feet tall and two hundred pounds, while Wanamaker stood at 5'6", 140 lbs.
