A 27 year old Key West man was taken to the hospital after police officers found him huffing computer duster behind a dumpster. To take him into custody, they had to invoke the Florida Mental Health Act known as the Baker Act.

Police responding to an incident at motel found a man passed out in the parking lot bushes, a can of computer duster next to him. After waking he asked about the can and admitted to huffing the contents to get high. He was arrested and will be charged with disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful use or possession of automatic hydrocarbons.

Deadly Crash in Pennsylvania Due to Inhalant Abuse

A 22 year old woman was recently arraigned on charges related to a deadly crash in August 2012. She was inhaling computer duster behind the wheel when she crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into another vehicle. The 25 year old driver of that car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police found
two cans of the duster in her car. Her
boyfriend, a passenger in the car at the time, told police they had purchased the
duster at Wal-Mart, the woman inhaled from the can in the store’s parking lot,
just before driving off. She also huffed from the product at a red light just
before the crash. She was charged with: aggravated
assault, homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under
the influence, driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter, reckless
endangering and illegal use of solvents, along with several summary traffic
offenses.

three months on a charge of inhalation of a harmful chemical substance.
Police responded to a report of a person stumbling into
traffic. When they responded they found the man on the ground, shaking and
having convulsions. As they tried getting up police noticed the can in his
sleeve. He had previously been arrested twice (in December and
January) for the same offense.

Police arrested an Ohio woman for abuse of harmful intoxicants. The police responded to a report of someone, "huffing paint and causing a disturbance". Once on the scene, officers said the woman, "had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on her feet." They also found a trash bag with gold paint in it and a can of gold spray paint inside the woman's jacket pocket.

A nearby homeowner heard the sounds of the accident and ran to the car to find the driver leaned over into the passenger seat. A responding EMT told police that he saw the driver inhaling from a duster can and another can was found inside the car. The driver admitted to inhaling the compressed air in the parking lot of a nearby store. Pennsylvania Women Arrested for Stealing and Huffing Cans of Computer Duster
A 27-year-old Pennsylvania woman was arrested for stealing
two cans of computer duster from Wal-Mart. After grabbing the two cans, the woman
then began huffing from them in the store. She was charged with retail theft,
criminal trespass and illegal use of solvents.
